ICCP Kids’ Camp crafts
Day 3: Costumes (will there be lots of little mermaids, do you suppose?)
The teaching: God wants everyone to know that He loves them: Jonah preached repentance to Ninevah
The project: decorated frame for camp photo
Have the kids share what they’re learning this week, and see if any of it ends up on the frame…
The supplies: sand, seashells, driftwood, and other tidbits pulled from the wreckage; paints, glue, paint brushes
- Distribute paint pots and brushes amongst the tables, have 1 separate table for glue
- Secure a clean place for the frames to dry
- Assistants place the photos in the frames before end of day
What I learned from Jonah chapter 3: Back on track
From Day 1 when he finally turned up, Jonah warned the people of their demise, and they believed him. It’s not really that surprising, when a culture finds itself with everything, but lacks the one unifying element. They had hearts for beauty and worship, and nothing completely satisfied. All of their gods—like so many denominations—didn’t give them the internal motivation to live outside themselves.
“The heart is restless until it rests in God.” Augustine
